The exhibition Places to be at the Fondation Martell in Cognac, brings together 14 international designers and artists around a common project: the joint reconstruction of a unique living space composed of 11 rooms, each designed by an artist or group of artists. For the space assigned to us, the living room, with a diameter of about 9 meters, we developed our own aesthetic universe with objects that visitors can interact with. In the fictional living room called Das Stumme spricht, the primary functions of a living room were maintained, but also the boundary between man and nature was kept as small as possible to convey the feeling of being grounded and involved, in a natural play between phenomena. All objects encounter the visitor with a movement or a certain gesture that can be interpreted. From the rhythm of the spinning lamp, the ambiguity of the shapes and movements in the objects themselves, to the dried leaves on the floor, everything in this space is marked by constant change and represents life itself.
